So a good overhaul, probably renewing the water pump and cam chains and improving the suspension should do the job! Think this might be good fun, should be funny to ride along all those super prepped BMW's with my 300euro cx500!
By the way KH, it's a 1983 cx500b model, pretty much like the one on the picture. So no Nigel, its not the silly, sissy style custom bike Honda made by mistake. I ride the original butt ugly plastic maggot! :mchappy:

Say we do decide to take the cx500's, how stupid is that? Is it doable/ does it take away some of the fun of a live time trip?
If it is doable, what technical modifications do you guys recommend? We've both driven our bikes for about 10000km and they have been bullit proof, never letting us down yet. They're both parked outside in the great dutch weather taking a good beating from wind/rain/snow etc. How stupid is this plan?

Go for it! These are tough bikes. The usual preparation as for any bike. Have fun, tell us how it's going when you start!
