Information overload. Do I go the route of a £2000 XR650L 11,000 miles needs a few grand spending on it, ie, big tank, small rebore, plus tweeks. or a 2004 KTM adventure 640, £5,000 big tank, big vibrations, not air cooled, and not as easy to work on. Planning RTW starting in Africa sept 2005. Opinions? help?

Only two choices? If you are shopping in the 5000 range you probably could find a very nice honda with equipment ready to go. Remember..wherever you go there you are. Basicly you will be the one on the dark and stormy night suffering from questionable food ingestion faced with a bike that is not cooperating. Thats how I would pick my bike.Find a bike that will be your friend.
