Dont know if this has been posted before. Eventhough a test of these bikes will always be subject to the writers personal perception and might differ entirely from your own, I found it a good read none the less.


Addendum: Might give the "in the market" people a few ideas.

Yep, I have to say it differs quite a bit from my own. Its beyond me, where they got that vibration-thing with DL... in fact thats something they keep mentioning all over again. Maybe they in fact had a faulty bike, because its quite simply one of the smoothest-running veetwins on the market. If theres an even smoother one, the Transalp could be it. And then they have two more single-cylinder bikes to compare it to, yet this is the one that vibrates, ok whatever...

Regarding the XT660R:
"The closest thing to a trail bike is also the best on the motorway. Weird"

Got to admit, thats one of the weirdest observations in a long, long time. A bike with virtually no fairing or wind protection, has 1 cylinder, is geared for offroad-riding, and has in the neighbourhood of 20 hp less than the DL, turns out to be the best on the motorway? Ive nothing against the XT, in fact if the ride was to go through some rough terrain, I´d take it over the DL anyday... but motorway??? These people have got to be kidding!! Under the same logic, I wonder if a Goldwing was their no1 choice for a motocross bike!

Luckily you are not forced to buy everything you read in the media.
