BMW R1150GS: mods for long distance?
 

Hi guys,

I am seriously thinking about purchasing a 1150 GS to keep my current Yamaha GTS company. It would be used for:

1- half- to three- day quick trips, mostly back country roads with passenger,

2- long distance touring (no more than one or two months at a time), whenever the GTS just doesn't feel right (Morocco, for instance),

3- day to day city riding, commuting, and work.

Anyone out there able to comment about caveats, possible problems, useful hints and tips, and recommended modifications for this? Just this specific model please. I am thoroughly experienced with big bikes and am quite big (tall and heavy) myself, so weight and size for all-rounding is not an issue. Anybody?
