Overland to Africa !
Hi,
In Chris's book it is said 1200 is very big and heavy machine and you should go for a single between 400-650. Idea is correct itself. But we don't know your experience and ability in mechanic. Did you ride any single or twin before? If you intended to go for overlanding Afrca trip personally I recommend a 600-650 single. Sur there is many done this with that heavy 1100-1150-1200s. I will also recommend you to read some travel reports. See what the people say about their bikes for such overland trips. http://www.adventure-motorcycling.com/trip/
