Africa Twin - riding it back to UK

I am a novice and I want to ride from The Gambia to the UK on an Africa Twin,
Any advice about the bike?
Is it too big?
the last machine I tried was
a Honda 650 XL. Unfortunately that broke.
Am I barking up the wrong tree? If so what is a better choice?

Thanks

I'd say the AT is a good all round bike! It depends on what kind of riding you're doing. If it is loads of off road stuff on your own go for a KTM or something light. The AT is loads of fun and I've done a fair bit of off road 2 up wit no problems. Its easy to work on and relyable. The seat could be better but then so could the KTM. If your carrying loads of weight remember its got an alimunium frame which is a bugger to work on if it snaps. Bottom line - you could do a lot worse than an AT, all bikes will do the trip one way or another - it depends on what you need.

Have fun

Chris
