honda nc750x to Morocco good idea?

Hi,
Friends at work trying to talk me onto a trip to Morocco in October on bikes
and since I have seriously considering purchasing nc750x as my adventure bike
I'd need to take it with me. Now, is that completely bad idea or just partially?
Never been to Morocco so I can rely only on youtube relation but it doesn't look that horrible to me, mostly gravel isn't it?

Not so long ago I thought I'd buy xt660z but after I've seen some horror stories about angine/gerbox failure I'll rather pass.

A friend and I went about 8 years ago on Triumph Spriints, we were told en route by GS owners they were totally the wrong bike. We got down to the Erg's near Merzouga in the Sahara to get a photo (stopped when the sand got deep!), rode around Morrocco for 7 days, only one gravel road if my memory serves me well, great time had by all.
Unless your going riding in the sand then it'll be fine, its only if you're doing serious off road you need an adventure bike IMHO (and the GS12 doesn't count as one of them)

thanks for feedback, so I see you went there even on less suitable bike!
So it cannot be that bad after all, a s you said keep it on gravel and avoid sand.

You will be just fine on NC750X.
Last November I took my bike (Fazer 600 Naked) from the UK through France, Spain, Morocco, Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Sudan. I fell many times but was due to hesitation on sand and was never serious falls...it was a fantastic adventure.

Just one advice: Avoid SAND if you can. Morocco has good tarmac roads...but if you go on sand just don,t slow down, keep the accelerator going and you will be OK. Gravel is fine on straight runs, but avoid going fast round bends on gravel.

great, thanks! how is crashing BTW on nc750x? when did you fell, any damage to the bike or it's crashing nicely? this bike weights 219kg so it's not light.

Crashing was always at low speed when I slow down when riding on deep sand on non-paved roads. I would say I always crashed nicely. My bike weighed about 250 Kg with all the gear. My engine crash protectors were fantastic and protected my tank, legs and engine, maybe you want to invest on something similar.
