Thumbs up for this one. This is a great looking bike and I am going to make the NEC purely to have a look at this bike.

I was never that keen on the standard 12 compared to my 1150. Although I know the 12 was a better bike I didn't like the slimline look as much. The 12GSA is definately on my shopping list for next year.

I've read that the bike will be available next year. Is there any confirmed dates on when the bike will be in the showrooms? Do they expect any shortage when the bike is first released or should we be able to get our hands on one no problem? (Obviously only if we have the money!!) Lets get saving!

Cheers.
Dean.

I've had a deposit down for several months now. The expected date for the UK has consistently been Mar-Apr 06. I believe the US is much later.

Most UK dealers will probably have half a dozen deposits in place by now. But as the 12GSA is effectively just a different version of the 12GS then I expect BMW will be able to meet demand reasonably well, and are probably intending to ramp up 12GS production in the run up to the 12GSA so the line can be dedicated to the GSA.

There will be a certain amount of delivery spacing as otherwise it creates problems for the dealers in handling trade ins.

The cropping, downsizing and posting of the pics took several hours. Glad you were able to use them.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
