hi from London

hi everyone. despite being interested (some would say obsessed) by motorbike travel for a number of years, i always lurked but never joined HU. Im an active member of other forums including ABR and Ukgser, all forums have their uses but ive come here for inspiration and maybe a bit of advice in the future sometime.

Done a few european trips but never been outside this continent on a motorcycle, that doesnt stop me dreaming of it and at 30 years of age, im hopeful that a ride to far off shores will be on the cards. on 10th july I am riding off road through the pyrenees so got that to look forward to.

I currently ride an almost new BMW G650gs Sertao. Ive owned a load of adventure machines including new R1200s, xt660z, f800gs etc... Im terrible for changing bikes because 1 minute my interest is in long distance comfortable travel and the next i want to go away and do something rough and challenging. Pretty happy with my Sertao at the moment for a number of reasons which I will not go into on my intro.
And thats me

Bout the same here really....done eu loads, never further, really want to. Funnily enough I was looking at the maps to see about riding to Auschwitz last night. Always wanted to go, but the ride doesn't look very entertaining. But I might be wrong

auschwitz is well worth a visit.im not sure about the ride as i flew there with the mrs haha. i have always enjoyed riding in germany though so id think it was decent enough. if you do go, make sure you get the english tour else you wont know the significance of specific blocks, rooms etc...

Hi Dan, nice to know there are some Hubbers around this part. I also travel from time to time around Europe, although not too far yet.
Have a great time and nice adventures.
Marco.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
