A Newbie in UK who wants to travel Europe

Hi
I have been searching, and wondering, how to go about driving and touring Europe for a year or two, and I came across this site, so here is me . . . . . .

I just bought a clapped out HymerMobile, and it will go for its MoT this week . . . !:confused1: . . . will it pass . . . I hope so

It is does, then it is nearly ready for me to be off, to Dover, and then Europe ! :innocent:

Hope to meet some nice people, and hopefully pick your brains ! :rolleyes2: .. :smartass: :stupid:

I like to think I learn quick, so please be good to me !

Geoff

If you are new, with a camper van I suggest you start by poodling around France. It is probably t he most campervan friendly place on earth.

Stay off the Peages ( why pay to miss things) and tour the old rn's.

To get a real feel of French cuisine look out for lorries parked up at lunchtime (Routiers) there you can get a 3-4 course traditional lunch for 10-13 euros including wine and coffee. In te evenings, many of them and other roadside resturants allow you to park up for the night free (have a meal there of course).

Buy you fuel and food at supermarkets as you travel about. (NOTE most are shut all day sundays)

Have fun.

Hi Geoff and welcome. Can I ask how new is new? Are you new to Euro travel in the sense that this'll be your first time over the channel or just new to extended stays.

Either way you'll get plenty of advice here!
