Twist of the wrist! From Bursa,Turkey

Greetings to all awesome members of the HU! I'm a long time silent follower and decided to sign-up and jump in!

I'm on two wheels at the moment, if we consider 50cc scooters are two wheel rides I was living abroad for a while (in Greece/Crete) and i had great time with a friend's Suzuki Freewind.

I was bitten by the travel bug when i started hiking...I was dead tired after 40 Kms of daily hikes...Then i found efficient ways of travelling, decrease friction and improve efficiency, bicycle was the immediate solution with its 40 Euros second hand price! Having cycled a total of few ten thousands on the bicycle, realized i need to go further, further!
Then Suzuki Freewind (which is kind of F650 replica afaik) came into my world...Charming! Had really short experience with it but it was...I don't know how to describe but only and only the members of HU can understand that feeling of desire, wish and happiness...
Time passed and i moved back to Turkey and with a friend we are in the process of planning a mid-asia trip for March 2016 departure from Turkey, to Mongolia and back.

I think HU is the bible for long distance rider and even though i don't consider myself as an experienced rider as you guys and gals there, i believe i am on the track. Takes time, sweat, tears, cash but i do believe...I am reading a lot about long distance travelling collecting systematically (as an ex-academician) and looking forward for it.

So a shorty introduction from me. I can try to help anyone about riding and places in Turkey also Crete/Greece where i've lived for 3 years. It's generally out of the general direction of long distance riders due to it's geography and dependence on a 9 hour ferry trip, i'd strongly advise travelers to consider Crete as a good destination...So your questions are welcomed!
Woo, i feel really happy to post on HUBB!!!
Cheers!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
