Hello from Cape Town - South Africa

Hi All
I am new to the Forum

I Ride a BMW R1200GS (my 6th GS).

If anyone has any questions about riding in Southern Africa , and Cape Town area in perticular - please feel free to contact me.

I would also like to do a Trans North America ride - And I wanted to know if anyone would be interested in Bike -swapping with me ? I ride your Bike across America and you ride my Bike across South Africa?

Is there a database of Bike -swapping somewhere?

Chris

Hi Chris,

I just arrived in Cape Town from Canada and looking for suitable bikes for me and my son to ride north to Kenya. I may indeed be interested in a bike swap. I have a 93 BMW R100 in good condition and well equipped. Also a nice place in Nova Scotia on the sea to stay awhile before starting your trip. Meet for a ? I am staying at Afrique du Sud Backpackers on St. John's Road, Sea Point.

Cheers,
Larry

Im flying to Cape Town at the end of the year and riding north to Namibia, to Botswana etc all the way to London. Any places/routes to visit/take from Cape Town north into Namibia would be helpful.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
