Magic 5 Yet? PERU ?

Trying to communicate a question re: a planned trip to Peru in October.
Has anyone ever gone over around and through the Andes Mts. between Cotahuasi Canyon and Cusco?
But it looks so doable on the map. Google Earth lists the distance at about 400 km, but does not take into consideration the numerous switchbacks.
Trying to contact Charanpashanperu...who seems to be in the know about the country, but I am needing that magic 5 to do so.
