Hi Guys from France 16
Hi.
Thought I would say hello ya all. I'm Dog, (yea ok I know, but I'm too old to change it now) I have just taken retirement and looking for that ultimate adventure before It's too late. I'm registered disabled, but too stupid to stop riding...:helpsmilie: I do 90% of my riding in France, and not been out of Europe yet. I did a 2000km ride on a 50cc scoter last year, and loved every minute of it. I have just bought myself an XL700 Transalp with my pension payout. I would love to do the "Long way round". But realistically I would be happy just to get out of Europe. At the moment I'm just :freezing: in front of the fire with my slippers and cardi on......doh Dog |
Welcome comrade.
You don't have to go far for adventure. Morocco, Scandinavia, the Balkans, the Baltics and Eastern Europe are all on our doorstep. Even the Med, Russia and Central Asia are only 'round the corner'. None of these require carnets and shipping so they're easy places to visit. I'd love to hear more about your 50cc travels... adventures on smaller bikes are getting increasingly more popular nowadays. You should check out Nathan Milward who traveled from Sydney to London on his 110cc postie bike. Hope to see you at Donnington this year for the annual HU meet. :scooter: |
Here's a link to my scooter trip, posted on the ABR forum.
Dogs 50cc scooter vacation in France I hope it's Ok to put this here. The Nathan Milward postie bike book I got for Xmas. Brilliant read, that's what got me interested in widening my Horizons (Pun intended) Dog |
Salut! et bienvenue:thumbup1:
Can you remember where, in the Camargue, your beach was as described in your blog as "Free camping on the beach, and arguably the best pizzas in France"? |
Sure it called PiƩmanson
Just past Salin de Giraud Sorry don't know how to do a Google map link Dog |
merci :thumbup1: found it ! merci beaucoup-
p.s love your fabulous machine and with Renthal bars too! |
De rien bier
Do love my Renthals, already ordered a set for my Transalp. In case your interested Bertrand there is another freeby beach nearby called Plage de Beauduc. All the Kite surfers go there, although a 5km dirt road to get to it, and absolutely no amenities near by. So you need to carry everything with you. Be aware though anyone considering visiting these. There is a rumour they could be closed 2013 because of erosion. Don't know how true this might be. Dog |
