Well, I'll try to manage a "balanced" self-introduction, attempting to make a correct presentation fit with your available time...

Let's start with a quick overview on my motorcycle beginnings :
I'm a french drilled moto-addict, quite young and later throttle wrapper as I started only 6 years ago (I'm now 33 y.o) with a 2007 Yamaha FZ6n after getting definitely rid of being stuck in "4-wheels-boxes" traffic :cursing:
After 2 years quietly discovering this whole new world and vainly looking after adrenaline under 8.000 rpm on this quite discreet 4 cylinders (the 78HP one), I badly felt in love with a Triumph Street Triple R (3 cylinders is just magical !) that gave me a 2 years long orgasm :biggrin:, especially while initiating myself to speed-circuits drug in the 2011 summer (Ledenon / Alès / Nogaro / Pau-Arnos / Le Vigeant / Dijon) :w00t:
I then shortly owned a Kawasaki ER6n, but this 2 cylinders didn't give me not even a "half-loose" as we say in french (I guess it doesn't need a drawing for those who would wonder the hidden meaning of this strange french expression), and just fulfilled the "2-wheels displacement vehicle" role I had foreseen to it (not even in dream would have been in "4WB" for these 2 months).

Then starting a new job and life in Argentina, despite being dreaming of a "free-motor" engine (France is as far as I know the only ****ing country where motos are law-limited to 100HP), I had to cope with local market difficulties (low cubic capacity general tendance and importation restrictions since 2011 that made prices just unbelievable :no:), and resigned to a Honda XR250-Tornado (1 cylinder less than the previous, again :laugh:) that lasted me until few time ago... And I must confess that it has more than fulfilled the few I was expecting from it (daily moves and off-road initiation). It even survived to a quite "nice" crash I had last january (actually better than me... if someone knows about a good hand-specialist in BsAs, I'm really interested !).
I'd like to quickly precise about it that I'm not part of the "mad dog" riders (despite being speaking of french HP limitations & adrenaline as I can see in previous lines), that I've always been conscious and responsible since I began with motorcycle riding - actually even more worried of hurting someone than myself - and always wear appropriated equipment as Arai helmet / Dainese leather with column protection (believe me, wearing a leather in BsAs summer is a willing test) / dainese racing gloves & shoes... But we all know that a few seconds of security rules transgression (like overpassing differential speed in this case) is sufficient to make happen incidents... :whistling:

Anyway, after buying and selling 500kms later a brand new Honda CBX250-Twister (the shorter experience I ever had with a moto, just to try getting a safer one in reasonable prices) I finally bought about 2 months ago a 2011 KLR, which I'm beginning to prepare for the trip project that led me to this forum : a mid-long trip (+/- 15.000 kms / 2-3 months) through Argentina-Chili-Bolivia-Perou-Brazil-Uruguay :clap: :mchappy:

Thus stucking a bit more in the mono-mood, and as you might guess, I'm here to check out for preparation & mods tricks. :smile3:
I will now start wandering in this clearly appropriated forum (also recently registered in KLR.net's one, those who already belong to this other forum will notice kind of a recycled presentation), and try to get ready in time for this first stand-alone quite large trip for me (I already have a nice "half-loose" about it :biggrin:).

Well, I now let this forum pillars send me back some "welcome" & tips (I've been wandering long enough on the streetriple.fr forum to understand that only the few bravest maintain in reading and posting in these "presentation threads", and to know that making the effort of a nice self-introduction is the better way to thank them :wink3:)

Just a short last complement so as to save time in my researches :
I have kind of a front-wheel instability while rising about 120-130 km/h that I don't like at all...
Any idea of the guilty part ? Should I check/change the fork springs & oil ?
I already stiffened to the max the rear shock and seems like having gone in the right sense, but far not enough...
Interest/impact of progressive springs in that case ? Fork brace ?
Could the quite exhausted original dunlop tyre be involved ?

Welcome to THE site Zin. As you're no doubt already aware, you're on the right side of the water for some fantastic riding opportunities. There will be much gnashing of teeth from many of us in Europe for whom the crossing, with bike can be a bit of a mission to overcome...

Hi all !

Back here with you, first time giving news since long but I've been quite busy and not so much riding :innocent:

A quick status refresh before to go on in others threads :
I went on preparing this trip since last time and finally resigned on June this year to start my journey around the Cordillera of the Andes beginning of september.
I'll be posting in the appropriate section the address of the blog I just opened to share it, and will try also to post some short bits from time to time here in the HUBB ;)

And for a brief insight of my first weeks and the following :
I left from BsAs and begun with the uruguayan coast until touching Brazil, and went back to Córdoba - Argentina to meet with friends for a riding week around. Then went on alone from Córdoba to Salta where I stopped about a month to open this blog, and I'm now ready to go on hanging around in this zone (Cachi-Cafayate & San Antonio-Susques-Iruya-Humahuaca-Tilcara-Pumamarca-Jujuy) before to leave to Uyuni - Bolivia through Atacama probably :)
And then through Bolivia - Peru - Equator up to Colombia, then down to Ushuaia, and back to BsAs. :) :) :)

I hope you'll enjoy the blog and for sure we'll be meeting here again on the HUBB ;)
