Hi from Bromley, Kent

Hi all, I've been lurking on the site for a while now, just wanted to get the general feel of whats required for a shortish solo bike trip.
I've been riding for over 26 years now, I've done a fair bit of Europe over that time & I go to France at least once a year.

I'm thinking about jacking work in (I know my timings awful!) and heading of for a 3 month ish trip, probably going to cover France, Spain, North Africa, then up into Eastern Europe & towards Finland. Well that's the plan anyway, who knows where I'll end up. But i suppose that part of being on a bike, just following the wind!

I'ts pleasing to know that there is a strong community of fellow bikers out there that have been & seen it all before and are keen to share their knowledge.

I look forward to meeting up with some of you, very possibly at the Ripley HU meeting in June.

Stay safe,

JC

Welcome JC.
I'm not far from you as well, and spend quite a bit of time in Crystal Palace. But hope to be a hell of a long way away in the not too distant future.
Will also be at Ripley.
Cheers

New to Horizons Unlimited?

New to motorcycle travelling? New to the HU site? Confused? Too many options? It's really very simple - just 4 easy steps!

Horizons Unlimited was founded in 1997 by Grant and Susan Johnson following their journey around the world on a BMW R80G/S.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
