Hi and Sawasdii Khrap from Thailand!

Hi there! Newbie Martin here, 52 year old Englishman living in Thailand and working offshore out of Singapore.

Grew up in Sussex and worked most of my time in Berkshire, Kent and London piloting stuff like an AJS 250, CX500's, GL1000's and a gorgeous GSX1100E, moved to Thailand about 13 years ago where I opened the Ace Cafe Thailand and played around with a GPZ1000, GSXR1100 and then as age crept up and reactions slowed got into Harleys and have had an Electra Glide, Road King, custom Sportster 1200 cafe racer and now a supremely comfortable 2002 Ultra Classic which takes very good care of me hammering round the mountains up Chiang Mai way!

Looking forward to contributing to the site and getting to know you.

Cheers!

Hi martin and :welcome:

Not been to Chang Mai yet, but did a month recently riding a small cc bike around Phuket, and loved it.

HU Travelers Touch Point In Chiang Mai, Thailand

When in Chiang Mai drop in the new HU SE Asia Travelers Touch Point, the Rider's Corner Bar/Restaurant/Hotel, 355 Moon Mueang Road. They have gone out of their way to be HU Traveler friendly offering reasonably priced rooms, free wifi and computer use, the best and most up-to-date GPS and printed maps of North Thailand and Laos, and great meals. They even have an air compressor and some short term bike storage. Even if not staying there it's a fun place to hang out at and meet other serious motorcyclists either traveling through or from the local area.

I dropped in yesterday and was welcomed like an old friend. While trading tales with other travelers and a couple of local motorcyclists I learned of future plans Rider's Corner has to offer riding and travelers seminars and the best and most current and reputable Asia motorcycle traveler information base.

Chiang Mai has long needed a friendly central motorcycle travelers point to meet and not be ripped off as they pass through the area. The new place is easy to find and directions are at Rider's Corner Bar & Restaurant
