Hello From Yorkshire

Hello folks. This forum keeps cropping up whenever I look into future trips I have planned so figured I should register and say hello.

I have two trips I'm working on having not spread my wings since a posting to Germany when I was in the Army ten years ago. I've never fogotten those weekend trips home on my GT550, spending countless hours in the saddle to spend less than 24 hourse with my girlfriend.

Since then I've stayed within the UK, done very little overnight traveling and my bikes have stayed around the 250cc mark. Still do about 10k a year and commute 35miles, 5 days a week through all 4 seasons.

So, the first trip, proposed by my brother (Like me a dual national but he stayed in the USA when the rest of our family moved back to the UK) is to head to Connecticut and spend a week riding with him, seeing the mountains etc. He's thinking of adding a VF500R to his garrage for me to ride. I've no idea what planning I need to do for this trip reguarding paperwork, insurance etc. Any pointers would be helpful as I need to let him know so he can book holiday.

The second trip is the big one. My mate Kev and I were out in the dales one day, riding the same roads, drinking the same tea in the same cafes and realised, we needed to think bigger. I suggested we go see if Pristina has changed much since I was there in 99. The plan is still emerging but it involves riding half way down Italy and crossing to Northern Greece then up through the Balkans. After that we aren't sure the most interesting way home but very anoyed to see there seems to be no passage from Scandinavia to Scotland which is how we would love to finish it. That's a good few years of saving away. First up is the USA trip.

Anyway, that's me.

Thanks Pheonix. I figured I should start in here as my questions are so unspecific, they don't really have a home in any particular room. Could be better worded as 'Where do I start finding out what it is that I probably don't know?'

Thanks also for all other welcomes.
