Smile Hi from Edinburgh

Hi everyone, I am originally from England but now living just outside Edinburgh Scotland.

I am here because I recently saw an advert requesting travel companions to do a RTW trip on mopeds! This really re-ignited my passion for a RTW trip, though I never considered it on a bike before!

I don't currently own a bike and haven't ridden anything in over 12 years - since my late 20's.. and that was just a de-ristricted 50cc lol.

So ATM I am in the process of trying to find a garage/lock up to rent so that I can get myself something small .. I'll maybe do a couple of short then long inland trips to get a taster before jumping in at the deep end.

I look forward to meeting you all

Hi.

I'm just a bit South of you down in Annan. It is correct that there is a meet in Cumbria in a couple of weeks time. Me and some mates are going and you are welcome to join us

Hi Ali, thanks very much for the invite.. I'll probably need to wait until the following one - give me time to get myself all geared up . I can't believe how hard it is just to find a garage to rent.

Have a blast!

Hey Hows you?

I am approx. 2 miles from you ! Don`t be worried about starting small. I have travelled all over the place on vintage Lambrettas, so small can cut it just as well as big

mountaincadre, thanks for the kind offer - You'll not keep me away from the next one once I get myself kitted out with bike / camp gear etc... hope you have a great time - look forward to reports/pics.

Hey Brads - 2 miles.. oh... you must be a panner maybe?

I was going to go down the C90 route, but have decided on a 125 to start, possibly a Honda CG if I can find a nice looked after one.

Good news is I get the keys to a garage in 2-3 weeks time, I have my CBT booked for the end of the month and bought a bike jacket yesterday ... I'm on a roll lol

My partner is from the Pans

Almost there! Have all my riding equipment, CBT is done. Got garage keys last week - just getting quotes in to fit a Ground Y Anchor and a few other security measures... prob going to cost more than the bike!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
