hello from Maryland

Finally wandered over here from ADVRider. I've got an '08 Yamaha WR250R that's my daily rider. I've done some smaller day and weekend trips with it so far, nothing longer than 1100 miles total, but I am taking most of August off for a longish road trip (Blue Ridge Parkway to Deal's Gap, then riding the TAT to Colorado, coming back on US50 or whatever roads that interest me on the way). Hoping this trip is just the first of many adventures further afield, here to get ideas and advice.

hi skierd,

i've been very tempted myself to buy a wr250r for similar sort of trip, may be going to south america aswell.

your trip sounds great, i also read your rider tale, nice pic of the bike fully loaded.

where did the seat come from? Have you found there to be lots of vibration?

thanks, michael

The seat is stock with an Alaskan Leather sheepskin cover. Vibrations are pretty much nonexistent compared to the few other bikes I've ridden.

She's got 15,000+ miles on her now, the August trip went out without a hitch. I'll probably start a ride report here too...
