Talking A dutch family on tis way to Capetown

Hi All,

After frequently visiting this site for information we have left (a month ago) on a trip from Amsterdam to Cape Town. The current plan is to travel down the east coast. We will take the ferry from Iskenderun (Turkey) to Port Said (Egypt) within the coming 2 weeks.

At the moment of writing this introduction we are enjoying the people, landscape and sun of Cappadocia.

We are a family of 4 traveling in a Landrover Defender 110:
- Tamara, 42
- Sem, 9
- Tess, 7
- Robert, 43

Wish you all the best and maybe we'll contact someday.

Robert, Tamara, Sem, Tess

Hi Robert /Tamara. How's the trip going in general? Are you enjoying it?
I'm very envious of you. We're also planning to travel from London to Cape Town in a couple of years time. Our two boys will be 9 & 10 when we travel. We've never done a trip like this before but it's a life long dream of ours. Do you have any advice to help get us started. We're also looking at vehicles and don't know whether to go for a double cab defender 110 or a 130. How are the 4 of you getting on in your 110?
Safe travels. Stuart

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
