hello from central Florida

I just found this site while searching for a dedicated forum to my XT600 that I just got and need some help on, so I figured why not?

Anyhow, I'm Bob, obviously, and I ride an 84 Yamaha XT600, which once its running properly and registered will be my daily rider and fun bike to mess around on and just enjoy going places my old Samurai 4x4 didnt go(and there werent many of those.....

I'm kind of new to the adventure bike thing, but far from new to motorcycling in general, having had several sportbikes, from 500-1000cc, and I'm used to working on them(hey its a fact of motorcycling in general, cant ride if you dont fix stuff right?) between alll my previous bikes I've probably got something around 20k miles of riding time, maybe more, I really cant tell because I never keep too much track beyond when its time to change the oil, or synch the carbs again.

Hopefully I'll have a great time here, maybe meet a few local adventure bike riders in my area, and learn a few things along the way.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events (22 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
