Hello from Austria

Hey there

my name is Chris and I'm from Austria. I'm 29 years old and I've finally decided that I can wait no longer. Bored as hell by day to day life and inspired by all those wonderful stories on the HUBB, I've decided to ride around the world on my motorbike. Provided I can get all the necessary visas in time, my trip should start in late June or early July.

The rough itinerary is as follows: Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Georgia, Armenia, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia, Russia, South Korea, Canada, United States, Scotland, England and Wales, France, Germany, Switzerland, and back to Austria.

I know I miss out on a lot of exciting places in South America, Africa, the Middle East, the Indian sub-continet, South-East Asia, Australia, and so on. But I consider my first RTW trip only as the beginning of a long journey and I can't wait to get out there.

I'm looking forward to hearing from you and getting to know fellow travelers around the world.

Best
Chris

Hallo Thomas

ich fahre eine 1200 GS Adeventure. Und du?

"Just like Ewan and Charlie's" könnte ja sowohl eine 1150 als auch eine 1200 GS Adventure sein.

I will leave the US on May 1st 2012. I assume at this point I'll make it to Germany by the end of July (i.e. 3 month, give or take)

New to Horizons Unlimited?

New to motorcycle travelling? New to the HU site? Confused? Too many options? It's really very simple - just 4 easy steps!

Horizons Unlimited was founded in 1997 by Grant and Susan Johnson following their journey around the world on a BMW R80G/S.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
