Hello from Amsterdam

Hello dear horizonunlimited users,

First let me introduce myself (again :-)) 1,5 year ago I was more active on this site, but afterwords I let it go. So I think it will be nice to tell again who I am, and what I like in life.

I' am Geert van den Elsen, 34 years old and I live in the capital of Holland, Amsterdam. In daily life I am a teacher who teach carmechanics on a, so call MBO school in Hilversum. You can compare it with high school for mechanics. I work with 16 till 22 year old boys, and some girls. I really like the technical devolopments of the car industry in combination of working with the youht.

In my spare time I like driving the motorbike. Since one year I drive the bike of my dreams, the BMW R1200GS Adventure, my baby. Last summerholiday I made a trip to the Balkan (south-east europe) of 4,5 weeks and drove over 6000km. It really made me very happy and felt that's what I like to do: Travelling by motorbike, meeting new people and feeling different cultures.

On this website I hope to collect a lot of information, reading beautiful travellingstory's, watching beautiful pictures, dream away by the story's I read of other travelers and maybee meeting new people with the same dream as I have: make a big trip with the motorbike of course :-)

I hope that you have a small clue about who I am, and what I like in life. If you have more questions I love to answer them. And, if it happends that you got stuck in Amsterdam, please let me know.

Greetings,
Geert

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
