Greetings from the Eastern Sierra

Hello,

I've been visiting this website for several years now and would like to thank everyone for the great pool of information and knowledge available here. Many times I have found answers to help me along my two wheeled adventures and would like to start giving back.

My home turf is the fabulous Eastern Sierra of California. In the past three decades I have come to know these wild lands very well, traveling on foot, bicycle, ski, 4x4 and motorcycle discovering secret treasures along the way. The region in a true wonder of geology, from the high peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the low sinks of Death Valley, the scale and variety of terrain is simply amazing.

Last fall I began an adventure exploring food and it's history in the region, Inyo County in particular, all while traveling to and fro on my dual sport motorcycle. I am having a blast and would like to share it with the members of HU as well. A link to my blog is shown below.

If anyone has any questions about this part of the world, or has plans to visit, please contact me and I will offer any assistance I can.

Thanks again for all the great information and entertainment available here.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
