Greetings from Germany!
 

Good evening,

I am a 22 year old traveller from Germany who stumbled over this page some time ago. It took me quiete some time to register, but here I am ;)

I started riding a motorcycle as soon as I turned 18. I used to ride my dad's bike first (Yamaha SR 500), but I bought my own bike a year later. It is a SR 500 as well!
So far I visited Norway and Corsica with my bike, but I plan to make another trip this year, eventhough I've not decided where to go yet ;)

I like the idea that Yamaha remembers the huge succes of the SR500/400 in some European countries and in Asia and that they want to continue with that.
That means that I like it that there is a new simple (!) motorcycle which focusses on the basics and that can even be repaired without you beeing a mechanic. And it's nice to see a new motorcycle that's not about having as much hp as possible.

Oh, and I guess some spare parts for the SR500 will get a lot cheaper ;D

I heard rumours aboutpeople starting it with their hands.. :D

I used to ride a SR500 when I was younger and travelled a lot on it to Great Britian, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany and France. It was a great bike but unfortunately I got hit by a car on my way home one day and the bike was wrecked.
I had many bikes after that but that SR500 was one of my favourites.

If you know how, it was easy to start but without the right procedure, it is very hard. That was the fun of it. A big bodybuilder with a big mouth could not get it started but then my little, tiny girlfriend could kick it to life in two kicks ;-)

I wonder why they sell an SR400 now and not an SR500 again.
