Hello Everyone!
My name is Chris. My wife, Sharon, and I are planning a trip of North, Central, and South America some years down the road. We have been reading and lurking around horizons unlimited for about a year now...mostly reading traveler's stories.
We currently living and working in Honduras as missionaries (my wife as a nurse and myself as a teacher at a secondary school). We live up in the mountains outside of the city of La Ceiba in a small village called Las Mangas (difficult, but possible to find in google earth. We have been here for 5+ years but are returning to the States in June per God's leading. One of the things we hope to do is save up money for the aforementioned trip - si Dios quiere! (as they say in Spanish.
If anybody would like to stop by our place be sure to drop us a line we love visitors! We live in a beautiful jungle area with a national park (Parque Nacional Pico Bonito) across the river from us!
Oh yeah, our only form of transportation is motorcycles of which we have two (2002 Honda XR200R - brought down from the States, and a 2005 Honda 250 Tornado - purchased here in Honduras). We made a trip to Costa Rica last year on the Tornado 2up with soft bags for about 2 1/2 weeks (4000kms roundtrip) - beautiful ride but a real butt buster!
