And another!

Hello all

I always thought it would be quite cool to drive through Africa and other countries but never thought that I would be at the stage I am at now, which is preparing for my 1st little expedition, okay, trip.

It was'nt even a consious decision either as I bought a LR D2 a couple of years ago because I needed the extra room, since then I have become a regular green laner/off-roader( I use the term off-roader loosely) and found myself taking an interest in overland travel, such that I almost have a fully preped vehicle!, okay maybe not fully preped but it's getting there, anyway I have the most important item, Chris Scott's book. Now, I know a D2 might not be the 1st choice for many but I am really focusing on preparing it properly in the electrical and mechanical department and obviously all the other usual things, so fingers crossed.

Have been reading this forum for a few days and it is excellent, pure passion in some of you.

Thanks for letting me in and hopefully I wont bore you pros with all my amature and naieve questions.

Later
Peter

Ask away

Hey Pete and welcome.

I'm a newbie much like yourself and I can testify that this forum is one of the most forthcomming and helpfull ones I've come across.

It seems to be the consensus of this forum that there are no stupid questions...only stupid answers. Fire away, and I am sure anyone who can, will help. That has been the case for me.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
