Community emails - no way to respond
Hi,
I signed up as a member of the community for my town. A couple of days ago I got an email via it from a traveller inquiring about the area. But while the submission includes the author's full name and home country, their email address is hidden - basically there is no contact information in the email template unless the person writing the community request explicitly includes it.

One of the fields on the contact a community form is the person's email address. If they don't fill it in, then they probably aren't too bothered about a reply.

In this case it was specifically asking for replies.
Maybe best to make it mandatory? Can't see much legitimate use in being able to shotgun an area's worth of bikers without expecting any of them to respond.

AnTyx, sorry I don't understand the problem - all you have to do is reply to the message, as the message "FROM" is the writer, so no problem. It's been working for well over 20,000 messages sent to the communities for 16 years now.

Membership - help keep us going!
Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
