Thumbs down Spam/Junk type threads/posts

I didn't know the best way to contact you guys, so I've posted in here.

I've just noticed a spam type thread in the Sahara Travel Forum: It's called "The Proposal to Buy Cheap Pills" by some new character called "helloyersss". It seems to be a whole list of links to sites selling Viagra etc. I get these useless annoying messages in my email inbox all the time and I delete them straight away. I hope it's not a sign of things to come, because these spams are becoming an internet plague and I'm sure you don't want them cluttering up your excellent site.

Is this a new thing, or are they a regular pain in the arse? I realise that you must have lots of website issues to deal with, but I just thought you should know.

Butch, thanks - and yes - these guys are a constant and huge pain in the #$%#$%

Easiest way to help out is to hit the "red card" icon above and top right of the bad post, and I'll get a message about it.

thanks!

Hi Grant,

I too came across this guy michaeel in the Photo Forums littering the threads with links to a webhosting company among a whole lot of nonesense.

I've tried to send you a message but cos I'm new here as well, I'm not sure that you got it!

Anyway, love the website mate!
Cheers
Fabrizio

The words less spoken

Grant and Susan, our encounters with Horizonsunlimited.com verge on overwhelm. We are so very thankful you have taken on the monumental task of creating and maintaining the very best adventure motorcycling web site in the world. It is informative, it is artistic, it is literary and it is family and it is for everyone like Lawrence of Arabia, who did not forget his dreams in the morning light, but dreamed by day and made his dreams real.

The beautiful sadness of those who wear the harshness of foreign roads, the friendships forged out of need, the broken dreams seen through a thousand eyes, the shared conquests and visions of a thousand more and YOU... constant and caring as you are mired into the oblivion of the great responsibility that is Horizonsunlimited.com.

Never have I experienced so much from so many who are so far away. You have bridged the gap for "the mass of men leading lives of quiet desperation" and made brothers of us all.

Thank you Edward and Elisa

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
