HUBB texts are RED!!

When using the "new threads" criteria, all the normally black texts, have gone red. Looks and reads awfully.

Also my name, after Welcome and logged in as, is in red.

It was never black before, it was blue, just a different shade.
And the new colour is not red either, I'd say it's brown.

Red is the colour of the triangle at the top right hand corner of your post, or if you're not convinced, check out that ghastly flashing red 'NEW' in the right side bar.

BROWN RED

If it were red, I would advised against it as many males have low sensitivity to red, being in the of longer wavelength in the visible colour spectrum we see.

Anyway I like the new colour very much.

I prefer the old color as well, but not a big deal I guess.

Dude, what happened to the good old "We are red, we are white, we are Danish dynamite!"? Black is for sissies.

Interesting the comments and thoughts on this! Thanks for all the feedback, we do pay attention!

The colour is tawny orange, slightly adjusted.

Just a reminder - we've had it on the rest of the site for over a year! Have a look please! We're finally getting the HUBB in line with the rest of HU re styles, colours etc.

Everybody has said they like the rest of the site design, looks, color etc.

At this time we're unlikely to make any major changes to colors. I'm investigating a slightly darker version, but that's it. If anyone has a problem with readability because of color blindness, please let me know. I am aware that red can be an issue there, so perhaps less red in it.

Also, who on earth can read anything on a computer / phone screen in the sun? I can barely tell my phone is ON much less read it!

thanks, Grant

There must be a reason that nobody else on the net, uses brownish/orange/red for links. its ugly!!!
I guess the most common is blue.

Sorry, keks, I never was much into football. Did you see the hats they were wearing. Pull the strings and it would clap the hands

Grant just wondering why you decided to mess with the font colour at all?

It does make it much harder to read in certain light conditions and as pointed out it is pretty damn ugly to boot.

I routinely curse any websites that use fonts with any shades of red but it could just be my 50 year old eyes!

Doesn't really add anything positive IMHO.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
