Hi,

Sorry, we currently have no way for you to actually upload pics to the HUBB. You can easily load them in yahoo groups etc or on your own site if you have one, and link to that image and it will show up on the HUBB. The instructions for linkingto an image elsewhere are in the FAQ for the HUBB. Link above.

We are - slowly - working on a new setup that will have all kinds of niceties like that, but it's going to take a while.

Had the same problem with the ADV Riders forum.

Posting photo's one at a time is easy but if you need to post a load of photo's, the easy way is to open an account with Smugmug or similar (US$30.00 per year).

It's so easy that even a luddite such as myself can manage it. We went for a ride around the Cotswolds on Easter Sunday & a few local villages on Monday, taking quite a few photo's. I posted all on to two Smugmug galleries, they're not in order yet but have a look at the link. There are are cheaper sites available but you're limited on file size etc. Follow this link:

http://www.possu.smugmug.com/

I've e-mailed Smugmug re: photo order & they've advised me how to do it, which I'll do later. These galleries work with only one photo.

Regards

Steve

Posted a link to a photo, works okay.

Is it possible to post a link to a photo so that the image automatically pops up when someone opens up that particular thread in the same way that it does on the advriders site?

I could not find the FAQ mentioned above?

Steve

Steve, look under the "Post New Reply" button at the top of the page for "faq"

Image information isn't on the page, but it is linked to from there, under "UBBCode".

Yes it's most definitely possible to have a photo show up when the page is opened. "Pop" up is not recommended - many people have popup ad blockers.

Also see the "UBBCode is on" link when you're creating a new posting. Full details on links and all the stuff you can do in a post.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
