"New posts" is working differently.........

......once I open a posting that is listed by the New Post facility, it disappears from the new post list after I have closed it, even though I refresh the new post listings.

Before the software changes of the last 24 hours this was not the case.

Also, once I make a post, I can see the result in the relevant thread, but not in the New Post listing.

Yep, just proven with the last posting!!

+, I have just noticed that the new post facility used to ask how many hours or days you wanted to display and that does not happen now.
(you can tell that I use the new post facility extensively!!).

Wink I hear you

No need to shout Martyn!

But, thanks for posting; once someone else posts, the thread reappears in the "new post" listing!! Weird, and certainly not as user friendly as it once was.

It is? Not for me - I worked on it for hours and gave up!

WHAT do you see / get when you click the "New Posts" link in the blue bar above?

You SHOULD get a drop down list with different times to choose for recent posts, e.g. last 4 hours, last 12 hours, last 2 days etc.

Currently all I get is a link, no drop down, and it gets me "new posts" and that's it. VERY odd, driving me nuts.

we SHOULD get a drop down menu.......... but sorry mate, were not.....not all change is for the best i fear. Apart from that, its a fantastic site, and a site that accounts for far too much of my time..........( actually not really, the bike is off the road mostly at the moment so I have to get a fix somehow) as for the HUBB, top marks for a great site.... but PLEASE put it back the way it was!

Martyn

Well this bit is working OK now and it is the function that I found most useful!

Correct, this bit seems to show every post since year dot; 84 pages showing at present.

Personally, I can live with that! 90% is not bad.

ALL fixed now - new posts is working correctly, finally. It's now a drop down list as it should be. (not default vb, it's a hack I added in to get the much improved functionality - but every time there is a big vb upgrade, we have to add it back in - and it seems this time I stuffed it up.)

) (right bracket) incorrect in the code. Jeff spotted it not me!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
