Smile Mislocation

When i go through the threads, sometimes i see topics about services or accomodations, in forums which, to me, seems mislocated.

For example ....

Acc.in Tunusia (topic) --- Sahara (forum)
Accomodation in Dar Es Salaam (topic) ----- Sub Sahara (forum)

Is this ok? should i revise MY WAY of how to make a search?

If you use the Search box above hopefully you'll find what you're looking for. (It's in the process of being upgraded - sometimes it may not find what it should - we are tweaking the settings to get it right, and it takes quite a while - re-indexing takes a full day, just to see if a tweak worked the way we think it should, so give us time. Note that the index is 750mb at the moment, so it has to be done slowly or server access will be painfully slow.)

If you're browsing the forums, like you should be able to do - you will find that people are not always very good at putting posts where they belong. Some are very new - for some it may be the first - and only - forum they use so aren't completely clued in. Some think there is only the forums too, because they never look to the left and see the menu for the rest of the site.

All we can do is move the posts when we find them.

If you see a post in the wrong location - give me the url - AND the name of the forum it should be in - and I'll move it asap. (The less reading and thinking I have to do the better!

Thanks for your help!

Jeff is our captive programmer, but not full-time, he has other clients to work with. And he's always busy when we need something fixed...

Font Size - aah now i see....

The small font thingy under "Post: 24 hr" actually only happens with Firefox and Netscape browsers. Font size is readable with Explorer. No big deal, just informing.

Err, I think you mean the SEARCH box - TOP right of the page - and I have fixed it now - I think. Jeff will be a week before he gets back to our stuff.

Text size ok for you?

worth merging

How about merging these two:-

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...d-aq-m-33675-2

+ the other one of the same theme in the travellers advisories:-

http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...2-4#post181160

Maybe into the latter? It has had far more replies and reads, but, there again, it is at the top of the HUBB display page.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
