Archive access for Mac users

Grant, you'll be happy to learn I found a way around the "archive not accessible for Mac users" issue : I simply change the url, and HOP, I'm where I want to be !
E.g. http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/new...02-09-01.shtml for the September 2002 issue.
A happy girl,
Trui

Thanks Trui,

but I'm a little confused - I know you were having some trouble at one point, but unclear about the url problem. The url you gave is the correct url for September 2002. What url were you using to try and get it that DIDN'T work?

Grant

Oh well, remember we --or rather you-- were trying to get me, as a Macuser, into the Archive index (the link on the homepage), and I had all the introduction texts but not the headers ? Meaning I couldn't get into any of the older newsletters. And there were a few other links that gave "screwed up" pages ?
I especially wanted to print out a few of last years issues. You see, I print all of them out so I can read the e-zine in bed or on the train. But now, I found my way into them
If I ever get stuck for another of those not-working-on-Mac pages, I'll let you know, but this is solved ! Jippie !

Yes I rember - sorry didn't click in my poor tired brain "archive" - we think of it as the "index to the newsletters."

Good to hear it is working for you, but I'm still curious if there was an actual link "created" or used by your mac that was different to the correct one.

The format is completely consistent by the way for all except the second or so issue which came out on the 15th.

Never mind Grant, I'm surely one of those rare bits on Mac. The rest of the world, surely outside of the "west", is on PC and has no problem on your EXCELLENT sample of "how a website should be and can be run".
I sent you a few schreenshots then, and you did fiddle on bits, but it still didn't work. On OS X there is no problem, and by finding a way around, there is no problem for me any longer either.

Thanks thanks thanks for your and Susan's work for all of us, and happy travelling soon.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
