Angry Triumph Problem

I HAVE A 93 TRIUMPH TRIDENT 900.
THE PROBLEM IS .........
IT WILL ONLY REV ON 1/4 THROTTLE UP TO 3,000 RPM.
IF I OPEN UP THE THROTTLE THE MOTOR STARTS TO DIE
THE CHOKE IS OK, WORKING WELL.

I HAVE BEEN TOLD IT COULD BE AIR GETTING INTO THE CARBS AS THEY ARE A VAC TYPE FEED.
ANY IDEAS PLEASE.
THANKS
BEZ

If they are diaphragm type changing them may well help. I would do one carb at a time. to avoid confusing any bits.
