Triuimph tiger tires
 

Does anyone has some experience with others than the original tires on the triumph Tiger 2000. My dealer recommends Bridgestone, but the originals are Michelins T66. Does the Bridgestones has the same grips and durability as the Michelins?

Hi, Sorry I do not have a Tiger to help (Thunderbird and Tenere). However a colleague at work has a Tiger 955i and this is fitted standard with Metzeler tyres. You may wish to consider these also?

For your information, I have recently fitted Avons on both my bikes and found them very good (much better feel than the Michelins, in my opinion), but I have not done any great mileage. Bridgestone did not do the size fittings for my wheels - have you checked this for the Tiger?

I've just purchased a new Tiger (A 2001 built model, that's how slow they sell in Australia, but hey, the price was right, I digress) and the tyres that come fitted are the Metzeler's Tourance, what it states in the owners manual that this tyre or Pirelli's (can't think which type) are the only 'accepted' tyres to fit on the Tiger. The manual goes on about Triumph testing various tyres and the two mentioned are the only ones approved.

Hi, My Tig came with T66's ( A 94 Model) but these are no longer available in the UK, I have since fitted Avons and found them to give good wear and be sticky enough for throwing it around mountain curves, actually wore out the outside on a recent trip to the pyrenese before the centre went. I get about 7,500mile from a rear but always replace as a pair, I would expect the fronts to go on for at least another 3,000. My riding is a mix of solo and two up with a fair bit of two up touring with luggage. Hope this helps

I've yet to change my originals on my Tig (Metzelers), however, from what I've read and spoken to the triumph dealer, Michelin Anakee's seem to be the go. I've got about another 5k's left on the Metz's then it's the Anakee's.

Will keep you informed how they go.

I run the anakees. only just run in but all good and not too pricey too.
