Hello, has anybody used this shipping website (or a similar one) to ship a bike between continents? You post your shipping details and then shipping companies can make bids. Just wondering whether this could be an option...

Had a quick look at the motorcycle link, but it appears to be just for North America.

Where did you plan to go to?

Probably to the US from Europe. I know, most of the posts are for domestic shipping in the US, but I have seen a few for Germany -> US.

Not used them but have a look at James Cargo Services IATA, AATA, IPATA and DEFRA approved Cargo Agent

I have always used sea frieght to the USA but not for several years. From London to Charlestown SC takes 10 days.

Some things to concider,
Sea frieght requires a stronger crate
when shipping by sea frieght the charge is by volume.
when shipping by Air frieght the charge is dependant on weight.
Factor in your personal air fair to retrieve your bike. it's no good saving on bike frieght if you're own air fair is expencive.
