Exclamation we need a good contact to send our motorbike from India to Thailand

hello

we are travelling around the world, so like most of the people when we arrived to India, where actually we are, need to send the motorbike by cargo to continue by Thailand

we also know is better, after reading several comments, from Kathmandu, but we are in Goa and we will lie to do it from Bombay, at least from Delhi

it will be great if somebody knows about some cargo company we can trust for a good service, and also good price

you can answer us here or by our website: Around Gaia

thanks

Hi Manuel,

its a good few years since we shipped our bikes out of Bombay/Mumbai.

We were introduced to a lady, Marie Dmello, who runs ANDERSON TRAVEL PVT. LTD.
The office is near the old stock exchange in the Fort district of the city.
The phone numbers are on the web site. Make sure you speak to Marie, she's the boss and tell her John, a friend of Anji Mehra and Craig Desilva told you to call.
She is NOT the agent but has contacts in the shipping business in Kalamboli.

Best of luck.

The contact is Frederick Govias :
fredrick(at)goviasgroup.com

Our experience was decent, the arrangements took about a week on the Indian side. Air freight was not cheap, total cost was about $1500 (had to be routed thru KL) but the process was relatively smooth for India. There was some running around and lots of waiting at the customs warehouse, lots of forms and inspections but all went well. They did a good job crating too.

FYI MAS cargo charged us a minimum volumetric weight. We were not able to get around this but you might...

Try to check out the enfield factory while you are there! They do tours on certain Saturdays...good luck!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
