via air-Seattle to NZ then Oz back to Seattle
Greetings! Does anyone have suggestions on air-freighting a bike from USA West coast, preferably Seattle, to New Zealand then a month later to Australia and back to The States two months after that? After some homework I get wildly varied answers and wonder if a rental in NZ makes more sense and send the bike direct to Oz to avoid added cost and headaches- or is that the easy part? Because of time constraints air is our only option. We plan to go soon.
I thank you in advance for any thoughts. Andrew |
Cant help you on the bike transport part, but I'm looking into a New Zealand trip myself, and the guys at http://www.nzbike.com/ have been real helpful.
Talk to Stefan Billing (stefan@nzbike.com) and tell him Brett sent ya (I've been working with him). The rental price on the bike I was interested in (for 2 months) seemed like one helluva deal with the exchange rates. They have a nice selection of bikes, and I think they include "roadside service" and some other goodies. ------------------ Brett - 1999 KLR650 http://www.ridefar.com (coming soon) |
