Vehicle hire in Kenya

We're on our way down to Cape Town (in Egypt at the moment) and my folks are coming to visit us on route in Kenya.

Can anybody suggest a reliable and reasonably priced vehicle rental company that operates out of Kenya to hire a standard Landcruiser or Land Rover for 3 - 4 weeks?

We've been in contact with some of the international companies based down there but the rates seem fairly high so any suggestions welcome.

We have been quoted 7000 KSH for a 7 seat Land Rover and 9000 KSH for a 9 seat Land Cruiser per day for a trip we are organising next year.

The company is based in Nairobi and I'm pretty sure that the price is all inclusive. You may be able to negotiate cheaper rates for that duration.

There is a company in SA (Joberg) called Bushlore which supplies top class expedition-equipped Land Rovers for rental.

When we were in Zambia we met a couple of guys travelling in a very impressive rig which Bushlore had delivered up to Dar for them to pick up, and they were then driving it back to SA from there. So they may be an option for you to explore if they can both drop off and pick up again as well ...
