updated quote from vancouver to frankfurt

I'll fill out the shipping info section too but just in case. I've been calling around to a lot of places and in the end I was going to use Stefan at Knoff tours in Germany to ship our bike over to Frankfurt. I have finally found a local company called MID Forwarding. I got there name through the Los Angles Lufthansa Cargo department. I spoke to Bruno who is a back pack traveller himself. I have a quote for Air Transat for $1475 CANADIAN and $2400 for Lufthansa Canadian for the end of May, one way for a 2002 BMW 1150 GS. Bruno says they build the platform around the bike and the price includes the taxes

*** this is what I was quoted in 2001 ***

Dear Kevin,

Thank you for your interest in our motorcycle shipping/insurance programs.

We can ship your uncrated motorcycle by airfreight as follows:
One-way from Vancouver to Frankfurt, London, Paris, or Amsterdam
Rate for 2001 - $995.00 USD

We also can provide you with the necessary temporary insurance while riding. If you go to our website listed below, you can download the application with rates.

If you decide to ship out of Canada, we can refer you to a travel agent who can book your passenger ticket on the same flight as your bike.

If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to give me a call. Thank you

... I forgot to mention you get your own container, ride the bike in, strap it down and off it goes. You can also get on the same plane etc., if you want to.
