UK to Eastern Canada

Hi all,

I have searched back through the threads here and haven't found one that relates to this shipping route, if I am being particularly bone and missed something then please let me know, but otherwise:

A mate and I are considering shipping a pair of bikes from the UK to the east coast of Canada (Nova Scotia area).

Is an agent required, if so can anyone recommend a good one?

Are there any hassles with importing and registering UK bikes in Ca (insurance etc)?

Does anyone know of approximate total costs?

Thanks in advance.

Wallnius Wilhelmson or something like that, Southampton to Halifax about 3/4 times a month £680.00 (ish) a bike 1 way. No shipping agent needed just deal direct with WW in Southampton and in Halifax where it will cost you CD$104.00 (ish) to pay port and customs. Take the bike to Southampton 5 days before sailing, they ride it on to the Ro-Ro and pick it up from the Autoport Halifax a week after it sailed from the UK, no crating or disconnecting required. Debbie in the Southampton office will sort all.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
