UK to South America shipping costs
 
Hi Folks,
I've been making enquiries into shipping my bike (3AJ Tenere) to South America, probably Santiago or Buenos Ares. I phoned James Cargo who quoted me around £1700 which I thought was a bit steep and I've been in touch with Casemaker who have quoted £2-300 for crating the bike and have put me in touch with a shipping agent (Davies Turner) who can arrange air freight but are unable to give me a quote without knowing the dimensions of the crate.
I know the dry weight of a Tenere is 185Kg and I have maybe 50Kg of luggage. Does anyone have a rough idea how large and heavy the crate is likely to be?

hey there- so do you want to ship or fly the bike over? your bike should be app 2.5 cbm.
