Transporting Bikes from AUS to UK

Anyone know the name of a shipping company that ships motorcycles from Sydney Australia to the UK? I want to organise this myself. Thanks

I used this in Apr-2008 (it´s in Melbourne, and the bike was shipped by sea from Sydney, but they had an agent there near the port):
www.tradelanes.com.au

All in all I´d recommend them, the price was good, around 500 euros (excluding the receiving end). The only downside was the shipment arrived almost 3 weeks after the original ETA, but this may not have had anything to do with them (it was claimed that the container had missed a change of vessel in Singapore).

But beware of the costs at the receiving end - for example, I had to pay about 170 euros just to pick up the crate at the harbour in Helsinki!

Hi

i can help you if you get stuck

I own a motorbike shipping business in Melbourne but can happily ship from any state to any part of the world

I am also a licensed customs broker also by trade

I can be contacted on 0433 070 059 or ivan@bikesabroad.com.au or you can visit our website: www.bikesabroad.com.au

I am happy to give you a quote on your shipment but before i can, i need to know if you can provide a crate for the bike. If so, i recommend taking the front wheel off to lower height & length of crate and thereby reduce your shippping costs which will be based on the cubic measurement of the crate.

I can also get my agents in UK to clear bike at the other end if you dont wish to do this yourself

Cheers
Ivan

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
