anyone got the contact for flying my bike to Europe from Rio

Hi,

Please can someone help me out if they have any numbers and names they can give me to fly my bike back to Europe (it doesnt matter where just the cheapest option) I gather Frankfurt seems to be the best choice.

I would be really grateful as its getting close to that time and Im running out of ideas. The roll on roll off ferry is a bit expensive for me at 2200 euros.

Please help, any ideas welcome, from Rio or BA to Europe.

Thanks

Simon

Hi Simon,
2200 euro is a bit steep, you may already know but if you can find someone to share it will cost you 1670 including the bike. bear in mind that will drop you at Tilbury. The air fare is not cheap and you're not going to be able to crate, ship the bike and clear customs etc. for 320 euro. On top of the fare it's a requirement to have travel insurace as well.

You can only get the Grimaldi service from BA, according the the information they call at Rio but don't allow embarkation.

Contact Kevin Griffin at CruisePeopleLtd@aol.com
The Cruise People Ltd [Europe]

See if they have a cabin free you may get a deal on a late booking, I am sure you can do a bit of a selling job.

shipping

Steve

yeh it is a bit steep hey. I called Grimaldi direct and that is where I got the price from. Ill give Kevein a call and try to sort something out. Looks to me like it may be the only sensible way to do it though.

cheers

I gave Kevin a quick call to prime him, he said there maybe a alternative freight service from Rio, German Sud is the company, but you might have to arrange something with the captain regards the bike. Not sure if the Brazilian authorities causing the vehicle problem or the shipping companies.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
