shipping to NZ

I'm looking for a solution to send a moto bike from Chile to New Zealand
The cost by sea are incredible expensive, something like 2000 € (euro)and it takes too much time.
Have you already do this by air, what are the cost?
Thanks for your answer

I have no knowledge about your specific request , but I have find that often is much more simplier and cheaper if you are non shipping a motorbike but a "normal" crate of goods... shipping agents tend to look at Bike travelers as a sort of very wealthy people ...
A good idea is to crate the bike (using for example a leftover package from a bike shop) remove handlebars, front and back wheel : you will get a volume of approx.1/2 of the mounted one ...ask for a quotation having already dimensions and weight ..and don'tell (now) that is a bike ..:-)

Hi Frederic,
Yes, Chile is strangly expensive to ship from. Did you try in Iquique as well? Taking the bike by air can be cheaper, just go the airlinecompanys cargo office (at airport) direktly!! And just try and try again. It is always a problem when you are in a hurrie to find a good deal of course.
SOME guys travel free by ship. They take a week or two and ask every captain of a ship coming in to take them (+bike) aboard. It is possible to travel around the world that way but yes, you need lots of time.
Good luck,
Peter
(I know LAN Chile is flying to NZ via Easter Island -nice stop!-
