Shipping to Peru. What challenges await?
 

I have the bike booked on to arrive into Callao in the early part of April. I will not be using a carnet but will be getting one in about 15 months time once I hit Turkey/Middle East.
Question is, has anyone recently shipped into Peru this way? Are there any hints or people on the ground who might be able to help? I haven't shipped a bike anywhere before but heard/read stories about costs blowing out, obviously a concern.

it also depends quite a bit on your ability to speak spanish.
if that is not too good a shipping agent might be a good choice.could turn out cheaper in the end.
