Shipping a Norton from Holland to USA/Canada

From a newbie, hello to all you travel-by-bike maniacs out there!

Beginning of the eighties, we enjoyed Africa by Norton and BSA, paperwork and shipping was a hassle then, but it looks to be all the same or worse these days.
Plan is to ship these bikes for a duration of 6 weeks around july 2011, this time to the eastern part of USA-Canada.
Have to find a way to get them bikes over there and back again.
Have not been in this trade for a long time...
Enquired with Mainport Forwarding (Mr. Peet van Dam), but they do not do it anymore because of too much paperwork.
What other company can I contact for seafreight (a questionmark should follow...cannot find this on my EU keyboard, I´m a digital nono...).
Cheers!

Shipping To Usa

I shipped my V. STROM to Newark USA from Southampton in september of this year and rode coast to coast and returned from Long BEACH cal. I used Wallenius Willhelmsen based in Southampton and was really pleased with thier service. They will act as agents for you at this end and put you in touch with an agent on the other side who willarrange the return. I don,t mind paying for this service as it saves a lot of time and taxis and ballache and you can get on with your trip. They go into varios ports and the bike does not have to be crated just empty of personal effects and leave a little fuel on to get you away from the port of entry. My bike got back last week without a scratch , great service. Total cost there and back including agents and port fees shipping and US. insurance £1900-00. I plan another next july into Seattle and ride south down to Mexico and back via either Galvaston or Panama. W. W. office in Southampton 02380-715221 contact David Old . Hope this of help to you , ride safe W.W> also have an office in Zebrugge No. 050 557940

I know you mentioned sea freight but we've used air cargo a few times from Canada to Europe. Have a look at Motorcycle Express - Ship Your Bike and check their prices. It was super simple and quick. Last time we flew from Calgary to Munich on the same plane...
