Shipping from Vladivostok to USA

Hi there, I live in Italy and I'm planning to go visiting my girlfriend in Philadelphia, taking the wrong way on two wheels.

Is there any ferry to russian primorje to usa? Any location in far east and any destination in USA is good for me.

I already found the wat to return my motorbike to Italy from Baltimore for 750$, with a cargo ship, but from russia to usa I need a quick way to get there because i've to reach the east east side quickly.

Any suggestion? Korea ferry? Japan ferry?

thanks!

No, there isn't.

Ferry options are Korea & Japan.
However, you will need a carnet for Japan...

There are no ferries between Japan and USA.
You need to have your vehicle shipped in a container or by airplane.
Ask your friend in Tokyo to find a shipping company for you.

See my website for information on motorcycling in Japan (paperwork, etc.)

You will have to fly it if you are on a tight schedule. Shipping by sea always takes longer than they tell you it will.

Hi Chris - sorry to butt in on this thread, but I'm having a half crazy idea... so are you saying there is no ferry route from Alaska to Russia at all?

If not, the only option (other than Japan etc) would be to airfreight a bike across - presumably to Magadan or something? I imagine this is going to significantly more expensive?

And I thought getting the visa was going to be the hard part...

Any advice or pointers to more information would be appreciated,

Jenny xx

Magadan Air went belly up nearly 3 years ago. Have a look at some of these postings ....

Many thanks Chris... at least the time frame makes it look an option, but the price/route, not so much... ah well, no-one said it would be easy... I'll keep an eye on that thread...

Thanks again...
